Episode 4135│ May 2026
For 4,000 years, one animal in China was reserved exclusively for the emperor. Its image on a battlefield flag stopped wars. In 1869, a French priest introduced it to the West — and nobody told us what it meant.
Scott Kesterson traces the giant panda's ancient Chinese name — Pixiu — and the five layers of imperial mythology encoded in it: military sovereignty, exclusive wealth, cosmic authority, the power to stop wars, and the seal of dynastic legitimacy. The episode examines why the panda's black-and-white markings were read by every educated Chinese person as a living Yin-Yang — the physical embodiment of the emperor's cosmic mandate. Scott then profiles Armand David: Lazarist priest, French government specimen collector, and heir to 300 years of Jesuit intelligence mapping of Chinese cosmology — and asks whether the 1869 introduction of the emperor's sacred animal to Western audiences was purely scientific, or something more deliberate.
- What is the Pixiu and what did it mean to Chinese imperial bloodlines?
- When did the ancient name Pixiu become the Western word "panda" — and what was lost in that translation?
- What is the Yin-Yang symbol and why does the panda wear it on its body?
- Who was Armand David and why did he have two masters?
- What was China signaling in 1869 to those who could read the symbol?

Episode 4134 │ May 2026
A small Oregon town rejected a data center that would have consumed 15x local household power. That local stand connects to 4,000 years of Chinese imperial strategy — and a bear.
Scott Kesterson opens the Panda Gambit series by examining Karl Wittfogel's hydraulic hypothesis — the theory that control of water infrastructure produces centralized state power — and its application to China's documented cycle of dynasty, collapse, and return. The series then enters its central question: the giant panda is a carnivore that eats only bamboo, reproduces through a 24-to-72-hour annual window, and by every biological measure should not exist as a self-sustaining wild species. Someone has been keeping it alive. This episode asks who — and begins building the case for why the answer matters in 2026.
- Why did La Pine, Oregon reject Boxminer.io's 20-megawatt data center?
- What is the hydraulic hypothesis and what does it explain about Chinese power?
- Why is the giant panda biologically impossible as a self-sustaining wild species?
- Who managed panda populations for 2,000 years and to what end?
- What does a black-and-white bear have to do with Beijing in May 2026?

We are beginning our show today with another look at General Gauge. From the previous shows it has become clear there are some historical points we need to clarify. Then we are moving forward into the Battle of Bunker Hill; one of the most important engagements in the American Revolution. Understanding our history is an essential pillar of being part of a Republic. We must know your history so that we can learn from our history, both the admirable and the failures.

Today Brad Cummings and I explore Pentecost. What is the purpose? What is the biblical reason? What is the meaning of it all? Pentecost was last weekend, and today we will go deeper to add to its meaning and depth that links Jesus and disciples to our practice of faith today.

We are a nation that has printed on our money "In God We Trust." A nation built on the foundation of Christian values and love in Christ. Yet as a nation we now spend nearly 7 hours a day before a screen, with 50-60% of that content related to food or money, while spending on average 3.6 min a day dedicated to our Faith. Is there any wonder why we are where we are? Its not some magic mystery influence of the deep state; accountability begins with each of us.

Don Trump Jr just married Bettina Anderson on May 21, with a ceremony at a private island called Little Pipe Clay in the Bahamas on May 23. Bettina's family was there, Don's siblings where there but absent was President Trump, Melania and Barron. The event was a blip on the news cycle. In the circles of the elites nothing is coincidence. And once I started digging on this rabbit hole, I was left with more questions than answers.

Mike Lindell joins us to discuss his ongoing battles with the RNC in his race for Governor of Minnesota. The most recent poll shows Mike in the lead, but the RNC wants him to withdraw from the primary so that their preferred candidate will win the primary. What Mike reveals in today's show is how deeply the rigging is within the uni-party system. Its not just the vote that needs to be protected, but the uni-party system needs to be dismantled.
